Why Cell Mobile Phone Recycle?

Cell phone technology is taking off. There are smartphones available from: HTC, Samsung, iPhone, Blackberry and other brands. With all the new phones available this means there are many old phones that are not needed.
Why recycle cell phones? Many big companies are pushing the recycling of old cell phones after an individual is done with it. But what actually happens to the cell phones after they pass through an individual’s hand? Why is it so important?
The cell phones can be resold. The large majority of phones are still in decent working condition when they are turned in. There are many individuals who lose phones and look for a decent used phone to buy until their upgrade.
There are also a number of different precious metals that are used in cell phones. Phone screen, Platinum, gold and silver are all contained in the circuit boards that comprise the normal cell phone. These metals are easily mined from the cell phone and used again in the production of new phones or wherever else they are needed. On the flip side of that, cell phones like: HTC, Samsung, Blackberry and iPhone contain various toxic materials that are harmful to the environment if they end up in a landfill. Many cell phone batteries are the best example because they contain lithium. If they are turned in they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
